FLOTUS Michelle Obama was in Los Angeles this week to honor Janelle Monae at the Jane Ortner Education Award Luncheon at the Grammy Museum.
Our First Lady delivered the keynote speech at the event that honored the Grammy-winning artist and teacher, Sunshine Cavalluzzi.
“So many of the young people walk away transformed with a new sense of purpose and hope. Engagement in the arts can unlock a world of possibilities for our young people,” she said.
“For many young people, arts education is the only reason they get out of bed in the morning, just like Janelle.”
